Best Snow Removal Companies in Missoula (2026)
HJ Property Care & Tree Service publishes this guide and lists itself first. Every other company here is a real Missoula-area business that we checked on its own website in September 2026. Nobody paid to be included, and the notes on each company stick to what that company says about itself.
The worst time to look for a snow removal company is the morning after the first big storm, when every crew in town is already booked and the ones answering the phone are the ones with room on their route for a reason. Most good contractors in Missoula fill their seasonal routes in the fall. The nine companies below all plow in the Missoula area, and they split fairly cleanly into residential, commercial and HOA or private-road specialists.
How did we choose these snow removal companies?
Each company here has a working website of its own that lists snow removal as a service in the Missoula area. We recorded who each one serves, what it offers (plowing, shoveling, hauling, sanding, de-icing), where it is based and how long it has operated, as stated on its own site. Two Missoula snow companies whose sites would not load, and several lead-generation pages with no business behind them, were left out. We did not use ratings or prices.
After first place, the order is not a quality score. It moves from companies that take all three kinds of account to those that specialize.
1. HJ Property Care & Tree Service (Florence)
We plow on seasonal routes across Missoula and the Bitterroot Valley, for homes, commercial lots, and HOAs, private roads and managed properties. Every account is set up before winter with an agreed trigger depth, a clearing order and a place for the snow to go, so you are cleared without having to call. We also offer 24-hour storm response, and because we are a tree company as well, a limb down across the drive is something we can deal with on the same visit. Owner Adam Hurlbert spent four years managing a multi-division landscape and snow-removal company before founding HJ.
Best for: owners who want one contractor for snow in winter and the rest of the property the rest of the year, especially in the Bitterroot, where long rural drives and private roads are common. Worth knowing: we are building 2026 to 2027 routes now, and route space is limited; HJ was founded in 2024.
2. Nature's Best (Missoula)
Nature's Best has worked in the Missoula Valley since 1995. Its snow service covers plowing, shoveling, hauling, sidewalk clearing and sanding for lots, driveways, HOA roads and alleys, and it offers liquid de-icer and both magnesium chloride and calcium chloride granular de-icers. It says its trucks and drivers are licensed and insured.
Best for: HOAs, condos and businesses that need sanding and a choice of de-icers. Worth knowing: its snow page is written for businesses, condos and HOAs rather than single driveways.
3. Continental Tree and Land Care (Missoula)
Continental Tree and Land Care says it specializes in municipal and private road snow removal, alongside residential and commercial driveways, parking areas, sidewalks and entryways, with de-icing it describes as environmentally friendly. The company has more than 19 years in business.
Best for: private roads and larger properties. Worth knowing: it is primarily a tree and landscape company.
4. Pro Sweep Plus (Missoula)
Pro Sweep Plus has operated since 2001 and runs commercial snow and ice management around the clock: plowing and stacking, hauling, de-icing, granular ice melt and sidewalk crews, from Missoula to Hamilton and Kalispell. It also does parking lot sweeping, sealcoating and striping.
Best for: commercial lots that want snow in winter and sweeping and striping in summer from one vendor. Worth knowing: residential driveways are not what its snow service is built around.
5. AAA Construction of Missoula (Missoula)
AAA Construction of Missoula is locally owned and established in 1987. Its snow work covers parking lots, mini-mall lots, sidewalks, driveways and lot de-icing, with 24-hour emergency plowing and free estimates.
Best for: commercial lots and driveways with an established contractor. Worth knowing: snow is one line alongside excavation, paving and concrete, rather than a winter specialty.
6. No Gas Lawn, Snow & Home Care (Missoula)
No Gas offers separate residential and commercial snow plowing for driveways, storefronts, parking lots and sidewalks, and uses electric snow blowers and other electric equipment wherever it can.
Best for: homeowners who want quieter, lower-emission snow clearing. Worth knowing: the site gives little detail on de-icing or sanding.
7. Montana TreeMasters (Missoula area)
Montana TreeMasters does snow blowing and plowing for residential and commercial driveways, walkways and parking lots, with 24/7 hours and a service area from Missoula, Bonner and Clinton to Lolo, Florence and Stevensville. It states it is licensed and insured.
Best for: residential driveways from Missoula south to Stevensville. Worth knowing: tree work is its main business, and it publishes no street address.
8. RidgeLine Excavation & Hauling (Missoula)
RidgeLine Excavation & Hauling plows and shovels residential driveways, walkways and entrances and clears commercial lots and sidewalks, with 24/7 emergency snow removal. It cites more than a decade of excavation and hauling experience in Montana.
Best for: emergency plowing when you have nothing set up. Worth knowing: no de-icing or sanding is listed.
9. Manscaping Lawncare (Missoula, commercial)
Manscaping Lawncare was started in Missoula in 2020 by Ryan Bradshaw and Casey Hale. Its commercial snow service covers plowing, shoveling, ice removal and salt spreading for parking lots and entryways in Missoula, Lolo and Frenchtown, with customized snow plans.
Best for: small commercial sites that want a written snow plan. Worth knowing: its snow service is commercial only.
Seasonal contract or per-push: which is better?
A seasonal contract puts you on a route: the crew comes at an agreed depth without being called, in an agreed order. Per-push or on-call service is cheaper in a light winter and much harder to get in a heavy one, because route customers come first. For a commercial site with opening hours, an HOA with a private road, or a household that cannot afford to be snowed in, a seasonal route is worth it. What should you ask a snow removal company before signing?
Ask what depth triggers a visit, how soon after snowfall ends they arrive, and whether walks and steps are included or extra. Ask where the snow will be piled, and who pays if it has to be hauled. Ask about de-icing products, since some are hard on concrete, lawns and pets. Ask for proof of liability insurance. When should you book snow removal in Missoula?
